By Dwight L. Quinn
LiL Aaron Remembers,The Last Employee is a collection of covered songs, that LiL Aaron performed with the original Artists when he was a sideman in their Bands. An avid Bass Player and Vocalist,LiL Aaron was born Aaron Mosby April 15,1932 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. LiL Aaron taught himself how to play a bass guitar well enough to garnished up enough courage to start thinking about leaving the rural's of Pine Bluff,Arkansas for the booming, bright lights and big city life. So he left Pine Bluff ,Arkansas in 1958 and headed for St. Louis, Missouri where the had hopes of putting that practicing of the bass guitar to good use by using that newly learned talent to carve out a new and better life for himself by playing the Blues. It wasn't long before,LiL Aaron start working in various Blues Bands in and around the Metropolitan St. Louis area and soon grew to become an household name that gained the respect of the St.Louis local Musicians as well as the Nationally known Rhythm and Blues Musicians and Artists like Ike & Tina Turner,Little Milton Campbell,Oliver Sain,Benny Sharpe to name a few.His most popular and familiar bass licks are heard on the Albert King's 1966 recording of "Cross Cut Saw", LiL Aaron played with the late Albert King for over thirteen years before cutting out on his own. LiL Aaron worked also as a sideman for the Rock n" Roll Hall of Famer,Chuck Berry,as well as Sonny Boy Williamson,Howling Wolf, B.B.King and Eugene O'Neil. In later years LiL Aaron became the BandLeader for the Eugene O'Neil Band. LiL Aaron recorded his first hit single in 1962 a song titled, Going To East St.Louis which was later covered by Boo Boo Davis on Black N'Tan Records. In 2000,LiL Aaron was introduced to Dwight L. Quinn, founder of Quinn Records TM, by his younger brother the Late Clarence Quinn. Clarence a life-long Blues-Lover with an ear for music, recommended that Dwight record this Blues guru thus preserving that unique Blues style and sound of the early 50's and 60's that LiL Aaron possessed. So in the summer of 2000, Dwight took LiL Aaron and his long time side kick the great Riley "Coatie" Morgan and The House Rockers into their St. Louis Studio and these guys did something only the past "MASTERS"could do,they cranked up track#1 "Shake For Me,and like true Showmen they did not stop playing until they Closed down track #13"Goin To East St. Louis," of their debut Album titled,LiL Aaron Remembers,The Last Employee. LiL Aaron played and toured Stateside and overseas until his passing in 2008.
