They just wait for the right Wednesday. Oliver Johnson's Hard Times is a 2005 blues album from the Quinn Records TM catalog. This week it's front and center as the label's Wednesday Deal. It's the kind of record the label was built on: honest blues about real life, cut in St. Louis by a musician who has spent decades on bandstands across the city. Oliver Johnson is best known as the man who brought the trumpet to the soul. On Hard Times he goes straight to the blues, and he means every note. 2005 was a big year for Oliver at Quinn Records TM.
