He started his career at the age of seven years old, worked as a background singer on Ike and Tina Turners' hit You Just A Fool,Gene later turned professional after leaving the military in 1966 and recorded his first charted single Tell Me That You Love Me on the Nutone label, and started his run and professional relealtionship the late Willie Mitchell of Hi Records, Memphis Tennessee in April 1972 where Gene recorded his next big chart topper titled, Mix Emotions,Gene with on to form relationships with late Heavy weight boxing champion of the World,Sonny Liston,Sammy Davis Junior, Red Fox, and later went on to join the the crew of the MotherShip with the George Clinton and The Parliment Funkeldelics that took him on a thirteen year ride, there's no stopping in sight Gene Poo Poo Man Anderson.
